- Every Sweet Itch rug can be adjusted within a wide range. This is because of the flexible solutions through adjustable straps and bands and for example, the use of several Velcro straps to allow for bigger bellies.
- Also the belly flap is made wide enough to adjust for changes during pregnancy.
- The neck piece is also quite long. This to cover both horses with short, but especially the ones with a longer neck. This also when feeding.
- Your horse may show some difference measurements than suggested in our tables. Most importantly is to measure up your horse correctly as follows:
- The upper length: this is the length from on top of the withers, following the horse’s back to the beginning of the tail (see drawing below).
- The lower length: This one is measured from the middle of the chest, along the flank of the horse to right between the rear legs, under its tail. Typically this length is 50 cm’s longer than the upper length
- If the combination of upper length and lower length differ substantially, then we suggest you choose the lower length as defining measurement. A bit longer rug is less of a problem than a too tight one! For the best result it’s wise to contact us for some advise.
- Our hoods are also flexible and one size will have a broad usage should the measurement differ from our tables.
- For the circumference at Z/X (see: table Hood sizes below), you should measure just behind the ears and following the line X all around.
